I decided to amuse myself last weekend by watching the 2013 EVO tournament. EVO, for those who may be unfamiliar with it, is short for the Evolution Championship Series, the premier fighting game tournament held yearly in Las Vegas. While watching, two of my sisters walked in the room (for what I can’t remember, probably [...]

"Four college girls who land in jail after robbing a restaurant in order to fund their spring break vacation find themselves bailed out by a drug and arms dealer who wants them to do some dirty work."
That's the synopsis from IMDB. for this movie, it's the first feature film outing for writer/director Harmony Korine who has done other short films, and is known for his artistic direction.
If you call a wannabe Scarface movie with a Disney girl fetish art, sure. This movie has me frothing, the editing is frustrating, and the camera is all handheld ( aka SHAKY CAM), the acting is alright, though the dialogue is tripe. I have a feeling this movie was supposed to teach me something, but all I saw was a horrorfest of the horrible things that college students do on Spring Break... and the worst thing? IT IS FILMED AND TAKES PLACE WHERE I LIVE!
I'm not entirely comfortable with that...
While James Franco eats up every scene he's in, and is the main reason to see this movie outside of the boobies (and there are lots of boobies, former Disney girl boobies too, but nothing from innocent "Faith" played by Selena Gomez). He actually plays the part of a guy who honestly believes his own bullshit very well (how very James Franco of you) and follows his part very well, but under it all you know he's just a white kid who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and really is trying to sell his character, Alien.
The acting from the girls was alright, with the exception of the lovely Ms. Gomez, who was flat as a board, and I really wanted to just punch her whenever she was on camera.
The secondary actors, like that of the rapper Gucci Mane, who plays the antagonist really infuriates me... I hated him so much... the rest of the 2nd line of people were no better, including Heather Morris of Glee fame, who was whiny and horrible whenever she was on camera.
So, the main thing that is going for this movie is PLENTY of boobies, and if you're into drugs, alcohol, and using loaded guns as phalluses and making James Franco give them a blowjob, this movie is for you!
CJ's score: 3/10 TITO - and running back to redbox...
